Overview
Responding to a growing customer base, this busy downtown historic district restaurant required an extensive addition and renovation project – without closing its doors. The program called for the demolition, expansion, and re-build of the main kitchen and the 1st floor restrooms, remodeling of the main dining room, a brewhaus addition, a new 90-seat dining room with an outside terrace, a new main entrance vestibule and façade, and a new 100-person occupancy rooftop dining and bar area. The three story 1873 building is a unique part of the historic district having served as a market place, an opera house, a movie theater, and City Hall. It is a major contributor to the economic vitality of the heart of downtown Frederick, Maryland.
