Brewer’s Alley Brew Pub and Restaurant

Frederick, MD

award Award-winning Project
Overview

Responding to a growing customer base, this busy downtown historic district restaurant required an extensive addition and renovation project – without closing its doors. The program called for the demolition, expansion, and re-build of the main kitchen and the 1st floor restrooms, remodeling of the main dining room, a brewhaus addition, a new 90-seat dining room with an outside terrace, a new main entrance vestibule and façade, and a new 100-person occupancy rooftop dining and bar area. The three story 1873 building is a unique part of the historic district having served as a market place, an opera house, a movie theater, and City Hall. It is a major contributor to the economic vitality of the heart of downtown Frederick, Maryland.

With renovations, there are always surprises! Waynesboro Construction addressed each issue as it arose and worked closely with the architects to resolve challenges such as elevator placement and raising or lowering floor levels, as well as safety and accessibility issues. Waynesboro Construction handled the entire job professionally – I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.
